A Resistance of Witches Novel by Morgan Ryan - Lydia Polk was stubborn, spoke her mind, and came from a family that wasn't very spectacular. She never thought she would get into the Royal Academy of Witches. Eight years later, when Hitler's army is rampaging across Europe, the witches of Britain have joined the war effort. Lydia is very important to the mission because she needs to use her magic to find magical relics before Hitler who is known to be compulsively looking for the artifacts himself and his followers can. Then a Nazi witch breaks into the Academy, causing terrible things to happen. The coven is shaken and exposed, and the older British witches don't want to lose any more coven members in service of a government that has forced them to hide for decades, no matter what happens to the world. But Lydia's task has never been more important now that the Nazi coven is trying to get their hands on the Grimorium Bellum, an old book that leaves a trail of death and ruin wherever it goes.
Lydia is alone and badly outnumbered as she makes her way to the heart of occupied France. There, she meets Rebecca Gagne, a powerful French resistance fighter with a lot of secrets, and Henry Boudreaux, a handsome Haitian-American art historian with a little magic of his own. They travel throughout the country together, hunted by both natural and magical beings, in search of the grimoire. But Lydia soon learns that discovering the Grimorium Bellum is only half the battle; the book has its own evil purpose. Before the witches of the Third Reich can use it, Lydia has to put it down, but she has to survive the book first.
